Our identity is insecure, and more so than ever before thanks to generative AI. Only I can truly know it is me. The following article appeared in Wired magazine and makes the point that AI has the capacity to compromise our images and our identity. "Should I stay ... or just go away for a while?" Just what is the expected job impact of generative AI? Should it's development be stopped? Slowed down? Should we be concerned? Mel Head in his article HERE provides ChatGPT's responses to whether its development should be slowed down or not from the vantage point of fifteen different and random selected professions. Be aware that ChatGPT's answers are very sensitive to the structure, composition, and assumed expectations of the prompt.
Mel will be joining our Zoomed webinar COPY this Thursday featuring a sober discussion of the upside and downside of AI with a particular focus on the value and risk to jobs and our personal identity.
Be an AI Realist. HERE Generative AI is coming at a velocity almost no one outside AI companies fully realizes. We're talking months — not years — before impact. And it will rock your world. At first, gradually. Then, suddenly. First to get hit: Basically any job that involves writing or coding; creativity; information synthesis; or sifting through large sets of data or info (lawyers, researchers, etc.). This article cites several dos and don't for taking a realistic view of just what to expect.
