Honourable Nate Horner. Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Economic Development
In 2019, Nate Horner was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the constituency of Drumheller-Stettler. He previously served as the associate minister of Rural Economic Development and deputy chair of the Select Special Democratic Accountability Committee. In November 2021, he was sworn in as Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Economic Development. Before being elected, Minister Horner was a rancher with a cow-calf mix farm operation and an active volunteer, serving as an emergency medical responder for Dryland Emergency Medical Services Association, president of the Highway 9 Feeder Co-op Association and co-chair of the Hardgrass Bronc Match.

Mark Smith. MLA – Drayton Valley – Devon. Mark was elected to the Alberta Legislature on May 05, 2015. Having grown up in a conservative family, and son of a successful small business owner, Mark took a keen interest in politics and the future of Albertans from a young age. For three decades, he taught social studies in Drayton Valley and worked to ensure that his students became engaged citizens whose values would one day shape Alberta’s future. He values grassroots conservatives and understands that working together through collaboration and communication, an individual can make a difference in democracy.

Producer-led research is what drives RDAR. Since day 1, Clinton has worked alongside founding members to build RDAR and its innovative research program. He brings a wealth of industry knowledge, as the former Director of Agriculture and Forestry Innovation Agriculture Grant section, and the former senior manager of research and policy with the Alberta Livestock and Meat Agency (ALMA). He has a wide range of experience in agricultural research.

Russ Crawford has worked in the Canadian commodity sector in various capacities for the past 48 years. He has held positions in both Eastern and Western Canada for various companies including Cargill, Alberta Wheat Pool, London Agricultural Commodities, Inc. and Net Energy Inc. Since 1999 Russ has managed his own consulting practice, Agrinomics I.T. Consulting Ltd., providing risk management and advisory services to a broad range of clients.

Ted is an international agri-business executive with 30 years of visionary leadership, representing the Canadian hemp industry in both domestic and international markets. Ted represented international livestock and meat sustainability priorities at the United Nations and created an international beef export company, based on Canadian brand strengths. Ted managed Canada’s national beef export organization for 20 years.

He previously held the position of Alberta’s Minister of Justice and Solicitor General where he made important progress tackling rural crime, advancing aspects of the fair deal panel report recommendations, and creating a faster, fairer and more responsible justice system. Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, Rick owned and managed numerous large organizations and joint venture companies. His projects in the construction industry have included residential housing and commercial building and land developments as well as heavy construction, excavation and concrete. He also oversaw the restoration of a tourism operation, which now runs as a cultural training centre. During his professional career Mr. Wilson continued to build a ranching operation. He still owns and lives on the land that has been in his family for over 118 years. |

Steve has a passion to see new and innovative Ag industry come to life hence his passion for the Alberta Hemp Alliance and what it can do to diversify the sector. From 2010-21 Steve was elected as the first Reeve at Large for the County of St Paul and was appointed as a committee member for The Federation of Canadian Municipalities. he has also served as Chair of the NE Alberta HUB Regional Economic Development Alliance, the STSL Community Futures Org, and St Paul's FCSS. Ansd he has served as a school Board Trustee with St Paul education Regional Division. As an Ag Producer Steve has been active with the Canadian Hereford Association serving as a board member 2001-07 and Alberta Hereford Assn board member 1993-2007 President 1999-2000. He with his family run 250 cow calf and a grain and hay operation.
